Longhorn Race Goals

I believe it’s important to say your goals out loud, but since Sarah’s eyes start to glaze over when I start to mention race times, I’m going to say it here on the blog. Let me add that this is an ambitious race goal, and if I do hold this pace, it would be a new PR by ten minutes. I would normally say that unless you are just beginning in the sport, you usually don’t see that amount of time loss over a season, but I feel that this has been one of the best or most consistent race preps I have had for a race of this distance, so why not be ambitious. It will also be my first time racing with the pros that will be out there racing against me and pushing me on. That being said, I need to remember to stick to my own race plan as long as possible, and race my own race. Thanks to everyone for all the support and encouragement this season, please wish me luck.
Swim: 26 minutes – (1:13/100yds)
T1: 2:00 minutes
Bike: 2:16 – (24.7 mph)
T2: 1:30
Run: 1:25 (6:29/mile)

Total: 4:10:30
