Sarah and I took a little trip to Austin this weekend. As always, we had a great time. Stayed with our friends Adam and Rita, who found out Sunday that they are going to have a new baby girl!! better work on that name ;) The weekend was jammed packed. Saturday I did a COLD morning ride w/ATC, and as always the pace was fast and furious. At the end I turned off and finished off the ride going through Westlake. It was one of those rides, where if legs permitted, I would like to ride all day. The weather was perfect and Sarah and I enjoyed breakfast outside at Austin Java, where I got a huge blueberry banana pancake. Sarah commented that you know you’ve been in Houston too long when everyone looks so skinny, friendly, and has a pet dog. Later Sarah and I went and walked around Second Street. I went by Mellow Johnny’s garage sale and picked up some awesome deals. And of course, no trip to Austin is complete without a run around Town Lake and a visit to Whole Foods. Then it was back to Houston to get ready for the week. Congratulations to all Ironman FL and Oilman finishers. I guess now triathlon season is officially over for everyone and it’s time for the offseason.
